About Camp Roxx Nahan

The cause of this being the undeniable fact that beauty, its tradition and culture all have been underestimated by most. The little town is growing to become among the most desired destinations and has a small population. Despite the fact that Nahan itself is situated on a height that is reduced, you will find lots of outstanding places to see that may offer cooler wind, breathtaking views and neverending greenery till they close that could delight the eyes.

Nahan is the town itself is just 245 kms from Delhi as well as the headquarters of Sirmaur district. Based in the center of Shiwalik hills and overlooking pine woods, this is a scenic town with a few good history. Favored regions to go to on the list of tourists are Haripurdhar etc., Renuka Lake, Paonta Sahib, Churdhar With so much of untapped potential in terms of peace, history, tradition, snow capped mountains & greenery are worried, there isn’t any denying the reality that its attractiveness hadn’t been valued the manner it will be valued now.

Nahan, nevertheless, is an underdog that’s created for itself a unique standing in the tourist destinations of Himachal. The town continues to be st relationship & the home of princes, some. The town stepped in 1875 only a little later to the industrialization stage and has improved into being the foundation earth for a lot of industrial regions encompassing it like Baddi, Kala Amb etc.

History

According to the National Census as conducted in 2005, Nahan has a resident population of 34,632 (Male-54% , Female 46%). The average literacy rate goes up to 80% which is even higher than the national literacy rate. The quiet town of Nahan has not been a place that has been frequently visited by many travelers. The reason behind this being the fact that its heritage, beauty and culture have all been underestimated by most. The small town has a small population and is growing to become one of the most wanted destinations. The landscapes, the temples and the natural parks there are a growing attraction for a lot of tourists.
Nahan, however, is an underdog that has created for itself a unique position in Himachal’s tourist destinations. The city has been the home of princes & saints dating, some dating as early as 1621. Founded by Raja Karan Prakash, the city’s name originated from a very unusual & interesting incidence when a king was trying to kill a lion and saint “Baba Banwari Das” said “Nahar” – single word for “Don’t kill it!” Nahan Palace also derived its name from Nahar, a companion who lived with the saint.

Suketi Fossil Park
Situated in upper and middle Shivaliks at a distance of 21 km from Nahan, the Suketi Fossil Park is located on the banks of Markanda River and is linked by a 4 km road from Kala-Amb in Haryana. This park is built on a site from which fossils were actually unearthed and contains one of the world’s richest collections of the fossil remains of mammals.
Suketi Fossil Park is well known for its six life size fibreglass models of pre-historic animals, whose fossils and skeletons were found at the park. The depicted animals are models of the extinct grand elephant, an extinct genus of giraffe, a hippopotamus with six incisors, a giant land tortoise and cheloni, a Sabre Toothed tiger and Crocodilia all of which once thrived in the region.

Trilokpur Temple
Trilokpur is located around 23 km west of Nahan in Himachal Pradesh. It derives its name from the three shakti temples here dedicated to Bhagwati Lalita Devi, Bala Sundri and Tripur Bhairavi. Of these, the main shrine of Mahamaya Bala Sundri is of immense importance to the pilgrims and is popular as Trilokpur temple. It reflects the Indo-Persian style of architecture.

Burma Bridge (90 ft. long)
The Burma Bridge consists of a bottom wooden ladder, which you walk on; connected to two cables, which are “hand rails”,Wearing a harness connected to a cable above your head. Even the slightest breeze has you wobbling precariously over to the one side. The famous words “don’t look down” are totally negated here, as you have to concentrate on placing your feet neatly on the ladder, while staring wide-eyed down at the potential plunge. Even though you know that, you cannot fall because you are strapped in and connected to the top cable.

Flying Fox (90 ft. long)
The Zipline is a safe and a super fun activity. Flying by the seat of the pants, one can enjoy a fun filled ride and also let go of the fear of heights. There is almost 90% guarantee that anyone who has the fear of flying or of heights will feel like a new person altogether after this one!

River Crossing (90 ft.)
River Crossing requires clear communication as well as the passing of critical information from person to person. This event will show what happens when there are gaps in communication and the resulting frustration will be a source of long dialogue. It requires one person to hang from a rope (technique taught by the experts) and cross the river using the hand’s strength. This is a fun activity that your group will not forget and relates easily back to work.
